Command & Conquer!! The PC Attack Review...

VERY, VERY VIOLENT INDEED!!

Everyone must die. EVERYONE. And I'm gonna start with you, my friend.
I'm going to surrend your forward forces with my Devil's Tongue
Incernator Tanks, and lay waste to your barracks with VTOL Orca Fighter
Craft. I'm going to send in a whole bunch of raptor attack cycles to pick off
the remnants of your attilery. And then calmly I'm going to mop up the
stragglers with PowerSuited Troops. For I am driven. Driven to command.
Driven to CONQUER!!!

Let's not mess around here. This is a brilliant game. A magnificent game. The
kind of game that people look back at after five years and say: "God, that
was a good game!!"...If they're not still playing it, that is.

The blend of strategy and Action is faultless, and utterly engrossing. Right
from the start of every mission, you're instantly thrust to juggle reaction-
time testing combat situations, frantically trying to juggle the real-time
demands of your opponents wile attempting to create a long term strategy.
You need to Explore the surrounding territory, build up your base, and
monitor the manufacture of new materials and personel, buffeted at every
moment by the underhand aggression of your enemies.

The graphics are excellent - they're not SVGA, admittedly, but colourful,
precise and brilliantly animated nonetheless. And the soundtrack must be the
best I've ever heard!! The incessant radio signals of your units, and the
fearsomely superb gunshots and explosions, blend perfectly with a series of
hard-hitting tunes.

Thirty-six increasingly complex missions are served over two CDs, but the
game doesn't end up there - you can swap sides, and play the whole thing
again as the bad guys. AND - AND! -Command & Conquer is turned from a
brilliant game into a breathtaking, astounding, marvellous, work of art with
- wait for it - multi-player options. Two players can compete over a modem
link, and up to four can fight it out over a network. We may never do any
work ever again.

Truly is this game good enough to die for. But you don't have to. You can
just play it. So do so.
